After 20-odd years in the corporate world, first with Barclays Bank and then with Old Mutual, Lynn subsequently followed her heart and made her entrance into community broadcasting in 2002 – initially with Fine Music Radio (FMR) and then followed by Radio CCFm (Cape Community Fm) in the Western Province (South Africa).
With her passion for the theatre (having been involved in amateur drama for many years) and communication (reading, writing and public speaking – she is a Competent Toastmaster/Competent Leader), she started off presenting news and then hosted a 1-hour women’s programme.
From 2004 until 2012 Lynn presented and produced a 3-hour weekday magazine-style programme on Radio CCFm - on which she conducted interviews with individuals, companies and organisations, with issues ranging from personal stories/testimonies, to health/nutrition, entrepreneurship, social, parenting and civic (amongst others) with the intention to keep her listening audience informed, educated and (yes, sometimes) entertained as well!
She remains the Monday evening (17h00) news anchor for Fine Music Radio, 101.3 - www.fmr.co.za - and now also hosts a programme called “Jazz at Sunset”, which airs on Saturdays at 4 p.m.
Since June 2015, she’s also been a Voice Artist with the Waterfront Film Studios in Cape Town.
Lynn made her community television debut in 2008 (in a show called Open Studio) on Cape Town TV (CTV) – after being part of many discussions / workshops / meetings in the run-up to the granting of their licence to air. In 2010 she was approached to be one of the hosts of a few episodes of an NGO programme called ‘A Better Place’.
Besides being invited to serve on the judging panel for the BWA (Business Women’s Association) in Cape Town in 2008, she was also selected as an adjudicator (2008 & 2009) for the Anglo American / Sowetan Young Communicators (Regional) Awards for high schools and in 2010 received an invitation from Exclusive Books to be one of the judges for the Boeke Prize.
In addition, speaking at and hosting different functions / events forms part of what she does.
